Take one camera (digital or analog) and film as needed. Put film into camera (if necessary). Snap shutter. Before snapping shutter, point camera at a subject that will give the viewer a meaningful aesthetic experience.

For someone who has no idea of what a camera is, learning how to carry out the first part of the prescription should take anywhere from a week to a month. However, the second part will take from a few years to forever. It’s this part that I want to discuss.

There are several approaches to developing as a photographer.

1. Bring your camera everywhere

A lot of people use their camera to record family celebrations and vacations. But please, take your camera everywhere. Try to capture everything infront of your eyes.

2. Study web pages that have tips for better photographs

These will often help to tighten up your pictures. If you want to get a few ideas in a few minutes, this is the place to look.

3. Get your photographs critiqued at an appropriate website

This is a good way to learn how others respond to your pictures. But be careful. Not all criticism is equal. Some of your evaluators may be experienced professionals and others beginners. If you are going to rely on this method, it is important that you learn enough to evaluate the evaluators (see point 4).

4. Study the work of acknowledged great artists

By taking this route you can learn what elements contribute to a fine photograph. This takes time and study. Don’t simply look at a few photos but read art criticism to find out what professional educators think and why.

One drawback here is that you won’t be able to see how your work measures up. If you plan to take this route and also join a critique website (see point 3), you will be in a position to know which criticism to ignore and which to pay attention to.

5. Join a photography club

Clubs often have lectures, workshops, and juried shows. This can be a good hands-on learning experience.

6. Take a class (online or in person)

There are all sorts of classes. If you choose one that has assignments and feedback, you can be guided through the fundamentals by an experienced photographer.

7. Get a coach

At this point I have to say a few words about the difference between a competent photographer and a person who uses photography as an art form. The competent photographer will be able to produce pleasing postcard- or calendar-quality pictures that look like postcard and calendar pictures. The artist will be able to take photographs that represent his or her vision of the world. If you are after the former and not the latter, you should choose among methods 1 through 6. A good coach should help you develop your unique way of seeing.

8. Go to an art school

This, for people who have the time and the money, is by far the best. I studied at the San Francisco Art Institute. Here’s how it worked. I went to a photography class two or three times a week. At every class meeting each student pinned 20-30 photographs to the wall and, under the supervision of an accomplished professional, we criticized our own and one another’s work. We also took photography history classes as well as courses in other fields of art. Mine were film, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking. There were frequent guest lecturers. We never learned any rules. In fact, rules were never mentioned. But through a combination of years of exposure to all types of art, classical through contemporary, and having to produce 50-60 new photographs every week, we eventually learned what art was about.

There are many ways to improve your photography. Before you make your choice you should decide on your goal. If you have little time and just want to tidy up your pictures a bit, read the tips pages. On the other extreme, if your goal is to be an artist, there is nothing close to attending art school. Most people fall between these extremes.

Fred just got hired as a consultant for a financial services company. This new position is different from the previous job since this will require a lot of traveling. There will be a lot of changes, and getting organized is the best thing to do before doing anything.

The first that needs to be done is to organize the office. Some things are needed more frequently on the desk while others need only to be used once in a while. The person can organize this by frequency.

The table can have the computer with the telephone nearby to receive calls. If the printer doesn’t fit on the desk, perhaps putting this somewhere nearby will suffice, since the cords of this machine are not that long. Some pen and paper, which can be used to write a small memo, can be stored in the top drawer.

A box of calling cards should also be ordered since the job will entail meeting a lot of potential clients. Giving calling cards away will make it easier for potential clients to get in touch with the company.

The person should also have an inbox-outbox counter on the table. This will make it easier for the person to know which of the documents are done and which of them still require some action.

Being in meetings and traveling around a lot, the person will probably be better off by carrying an organizer around. There are the primitive ones that use pen and paper while there are those that are electronic.

Some of these high tech models also serve as mobile phones, which are light, easy to carry, and fit in the breast pocket.

The office where the company operates has probably been in that building for a long time. The person can sift through some of the old documents that are not needed anymore and have these thrown out. This will make the office clutter-free and will make it easier to find things when these are needed.

There is a lot of responsibility in being a top executive. Important documents should not be left lying around. These should be locked up in a safe (if there is one in the room) or in a drawer when not in use.

Some executives can organize activities for the week in advance using an organizer. Those that can’t will probably need the help of an assistant.

The person can plan everything to be done on a single day. This means writing everything down, and then crossing out things once they are done. Other pending tasks that are not yet close to the deadline can be put off so that these can be finished the following day.

An efficient employee is someone who is always ready. He is aware where everything is and makes sure the office is organized.

So you have this really great idea to start a blog on a particular niche. And perhaps, maybe you even want to make some revenue off of AdSense, Clicksor, or other contextual advertising. Super. You’ve wrote your heart out and posted some blog content. Great! No problems there. But what do you do to keep the content fresh and insightful? Are you feeling that the content you offer on your blog just “lacks”? Is your blog boring? Maybe you can’t even pinpoint what exactly is “lacking”, but you just feel it. Possibly, you just do not have the time to put forth to writing 1000 word articles every couple days. If this is you, it is time you look into using other people’s articles!

“WHAT?” you say. No, I am not suggesting you steal or copy others articles. However, I am suggesting that you utilize websites that offer free web content on your particular niche. There are many free web content sites or ‘article directories’ that offer free articles for you to use on your blog or website. You are able to use these articles totally free without a problem. The only thing you are required is to give credit to the author who wrote the article. Fair enough?

Now you ask, “Why would I want to use someone else’s articles? How lame is that?!” It’s actually not lame at all. Think about it. There are thousands of other people offering new, unique insight on exactly what you are writing about. You will find that people offer a different point of view or perspective on the particular subject. A different perspective or a new idea can be very refreshing for your blog. To even go further, find those articles that offer new thoughts and respond to the author’s thoughts.

Consider the benefits of using free content articles for your blog or website:

When you use other quality articles, you are offering your visitor with useful content, and in effect, your visitor comes back for more.

Using free web content will allow you to keep your blog fresh and updated on a daily basis with valuable information.

Other people’s articles can inspire new thoughts and ideas for your blog.

How do you find quality free web content for your blog? When you find an article that you would like to put on your website, make sure you are permitted to actually use it. You can usually find that information right on the article page or the website’s terms of service. When you are positive that you can use the article, read it over to make sure it is even applicable to your website. Do run it through a spell check to make sure that level of quality is portrayed in the article. If there are a bunch of errors, do not change the errors because that would violate the terms for the article. Instead, move on to finding another article. So do some searching and reading. Find that interesting web content and post that interesting web content for your readers! Delight your readers with something interesting and exciting!

When creating an affordable Web site for your small business, there are certain things to keep in mind from a design perspective that can make or break your site. Even if you do not plan to spend a fortune on your site, paying attention to each of these items you will ensure that the final product is something of which you can be proud.

Here are 5 tips for designing your small business Web site, even on a budget:

Tip #1:

Make sure your Web site loads in 5 seconds or less: Have you ever tried to view a Web site only to find that it takes 10 or 20 seconds to come up on your screen? Unless it has been recommended by a friend or you have some other burning desire to visit the site, you probably likely gave up and moved on. The first 5 seconds is very important in terms of the attention span of your visitor. During that period, you need your site to load and for the visitor to be able to “get” what your site is about. If it takes longer than this, your visitors will run out of patience and leave. Tip: if you want to show off a long flash presentation, try featuring it on a page other than the home page.

Tip #2:

Limit the menu bar to 5 options: Your Web site needs to be singular in purpose and focused in appearance. If your site is trying to be all things to all people, it will end up being of value to almost nobody. The simplicity and focus of your site design is reflected in your navigation and symbolized on your home page by your menu options. If you believe your site requires more than five menu options, make some of them sub-menus that are available only after the user selects one of the five main options.

Tip #3:

Make clearly visible a call to action: Ever shopped at an IKEA? Their stores have a non-traditional layout that allows you to look around freely and yet literally leads you from one section to another, right on through to the multiple cash registers and food goodies waiting for you at the end of your path. Let this serve as a model for how to set up your Web site: on every page, you need to make it abundantly clear to your site visitors just exactly what it is you want them to do. Do you want them to contact you? Order your product or service? Add a comment to your Web site? Whatever it is, make this call to action very easy to spot both textually and graphically from anywhere on the site.

Tip #4:

Provide free and clear access to additional help options: You do not want to lose sales (or visits, or whatever your goal for your visitors maybe be) just because you failed to give someone the chance to ask a question. Just as with your call to action, make it clear to visitors that no matter where they are on your site they can easily locate help via phone, e-mail, live chat, call back, user forum, or knowledge database. Hint: present the various options in a prioritized manner depending upon anticipated user needs.

Tip #5:

Show consistency among other design elements: The look-and-feel of your site as a whole is really just a combination of all of its individual components. Pay close attention to every detailed component of your new site. Use appropriate colors and graphics, pay attention to font size, make sure your messaging is readable and makes sense, and make sure images look crisp and appealing. Items that you think are minor might form the basis for whether someone chooses to stay on your site or find that of a competitor.

Whether you are designing your own site or hiring a professional designer, pay attention to these items and you will have a winning site for your small business, even on a budget.

A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of their traffic. Returning visitors are easier to convert into paying customers because the more often they return to a site, the more trust they have in that site.

The credibility issue just melts away. Hence, keep your visitors coming back to your site with the following methods:

1) Start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox

When you start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox, you are providing your visitors a place to voice their opinions and interact with their peers — all of them are visitors of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will also follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.

2) Start a web log (blog)

Keep an online journal, or more commonly known as a blog, on your site and keep it updated with latest news about yourself. Human beings are curious creatures and they will keep their eyes glued to the monitor if you post fresh news frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.

3) Carry out polls or surveys

Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should definitely consider adding to your site. They provide a quick way for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls or surveys that are strongly relevant to the target market of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.

4) Hold puzzles, quizzes and games

Just imagine how many office workers procrastinate at work every day, and you will be able to gauge how many people will keep visiting your site if you provide a very interesting or addicting way of entertainment. You can also hold competitions to award the high score winner to keep people trying continuously to earn the prize.

5) Update frequently with fresh content

Update your site frequently with fresh content so that every time your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most widely known and most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this is also the least carried out one because of the laziness of webmasters. No one will want to browse a site that looks the same over ten years, so keep your site updated with fresh bites!

The title is of the greatest importance. It alone can determine the sales volume to a large degree. Price your report so that you can come out with a good profit. You will want to make tests to see if your publication will bring in the required price before going into full scale advertising.

Most people are dreamers not “do’ers”. It is only a short step to be a do’er… Just do it!

Sometimes it is better to write a strong ad before you write the report, then make the report live up to your ad. Make your ads friendly.

Write about a special subject in a unique way: Strive to write in such a way that you will get repeat orders or will receive orders from the same customers for your other books and products. Have a follow-up program ready to go.

Ship your orders without delay. Don’t hold them up for checks to clear. It will do you much more damage than getting a few bad checks. Offer a free bonus for “buying today”.

Get quality printing for use with all your paper needs (letterheads, envelopes, circulars, sales letters, return
envelopes, order forms, etc.)

You can set up a distributor program, sell your publications direct to the consumer, or use both methods.

It’s a good idea to give your other publications a boost within the pages of your other reports and books, but don’t brag about your accomplishments or try to sell all your own products in the body of your publication.

As a woman, I always have a desire to be noticed by others. In order to achieve this objective, I can spend hours in front of the mirror to get my appearance right. And this means making sure everything from top to bottom including my shoes is perfect. I do have a sense of what footwear to put on based on my outfit, even if I say so myself. For example, If it’s winter, I’d wear a pair of knee-length leather boots that keep my legs covered and compliment my coat, be able to walk on snow for long distances easily without my feet hurting or blistering. So where am I going with this? I am simply trying to help you find the perfect pair of boots like I have.

It’s Winter Again!
A staple in most women’s fall and winter footwear wardrobes, boots are very much “in” fashion this year. Typically, winter boots are made with leather on the outside and soft, luxurious sheepskin lining to ensure that your feet stay warm even under extreme cold conditions. If you consider yourself a style diva, then winter boots are your ultimate style statement in comfort, warmth, and chicness. Of course, you must be ready to pay for it all!

Boots are really trendy and there is wide choice from flat-heels to stilettos, wedges, and platforms, boots are everything in between. Don’t believe me? Just head over to the “downtown” areas of any well-populated city in America or hop to the nearest mall, to find almost every other woman flaunting her boots in colors as varied as black, brown, silver, gold, and many others!

The Hottest Boots In Cold Winter
Now for the season’s winner! Yes, the hottest boots this season are the flat and riding boots. And if you already have a pair of heeled boots, don’t sweat! Pick up a pair of flat boots and you’ll have double the joy and choice for mixing things up and making your own fashion statement!

An easy way to check out and shop for boots is to order them online. The range is latest in styles, colors, materials and the experience is fun and tempting. But, you may want to actually visit a store and try out the boots you like before buying them. What’s the point in spending all that money on a pair of shoes that don’t fit you? Sigh!

Finding boots that fit you perfectly, while giving you enough toe room, can be a little difficult because of the varying calf and ankle sizes in women. Boots that are too tight in the calves are highly uncomfortable, while those which are loose look terribly sloppy. If you are keen on buying boots online, then visit an online seller. Also check if the online store offers you free shipping and free returns just in case you need to return the boots for a better fitting pair. You may also check if the online as well as the malls offer you custom fits by sizing them as per your individual shoe size.
Getting Boot-ylicious!
Now that you know how to find that perfect pair of boots, its time to choose one or all of the many boot styles that are doing the rounds this winter.

Black is In
Black patent leather boots are very much in vogue. For all you sassy ladies, a pair of knee-high boots is just the thing to make the guys drool! Accessorize the boots with a pair of fishnet stockings.

Point Your Toes In the Right Direction
If you like to play the part of PYT or ‘Pretty Young Thing’, then a modest pair of ivory knee-length boots are perfect! Pointed toes are trendy and fashionable. Flash them with a feminine outfit for a dramatic effect!

Metallic Magic
Back in fashion are the ankle-length boots in striking metallic shades. If you are daring and love to wear your attitude on your feet then these are just the thing for you. Enjoy all eyes on your feet!

Complimenting Skinny Jeans
Slick pair of boots with a faux fur fringe or metallic detailing is an excellent way to compliment a pair of skinny jeans. Tuck the jeans into the boots and finish out the rock star look with a funky top and a denim jacket if it’s nippy!

Turn Up The Heat!
If you want to look your Diva-ish best then slip into a pair of thigh-high boots, and slip on a mini dress! Watch the temperature rise…

Lace-ups
Boots with laces are cute and sensual in a wonderful way. Try a tan color pair of knee-high boots with block heels and attractive upsweep.

Casual Chic
The most popular season choice – black patent leather flat heeled boots are chic and stylish. Ideal for a night of partying!

The Perfect Pair
If you just rather own a single pair of boots and want them to go with just about anything then invest in a pair of tan, suede boots with stiletto heels! A classic style, it never fails to go out of fashion and always makes a bold statement!

So, all I’d like to say is that boots, any type, are simply awesome! And the best part is you can dress them up or dress them down depending on your outfit and occasion.

Photographers can do photo shoots indoors or on location. Those who want this done in a controlled environment can do this in a studio. This is because the lighting can be adjusted if it is too dim or too bright to be able to get the perfect shot.

The challenging part a newcomer in the business is setting up shop. The big question will be buying a place or merely renting this first for a few months.

Those who can afford can rent a room that has the equipment ready. This includes the lights, the backgrounds, stage crew and assistants. When the business has been established, it is already the right time to think about expanding or buying a studio.

A lot of photographers start by doing this at home. The guest room can be converted into a studio. This makes it easy for the person to transfer some of the equipment should this shot on location.

Picture perfect images can only be achieved with proper lighting. There are two types to choose from that is either ceiling or floor based.

Ceiling based units can be moved using a railing system screwed on the ceiling. This is considered to be safe since there are no wires sticking out that could someone to trip on the floor.

Floor based units are usually lamps mounted on stands. These are affordable and are very easy to carry. The photographer should just make sure the wires are safely stowed to prevent accidents from occurring.

The camera is the most important tool for any photographer. Conventional models used by ordinary people are not able to do this so the individual should get the model that can provide the right width, brightness and size for each shot.

The photographer should drive around the city to be able to find a studio. The price of some may vary depending on the location. Many of these places can be found in the classified ads of newspapers, which will also vary according to size.

The right shot can never be always achieved using artificial light. Sometimes the brightness of the sun is the only way to make this happen so getting a studio that has either lots of windows or glass door will be a good idea.

It takes time before being able to be a good photographer. Aspiring people should work on a budget first before deciding to whether to convert a room, to rent or buy a studio.

SEO or search engine optimization knowledge is critical for the person starting out in e-commerce. Whether you want to blog, run an online store or do anything else successfully online, you need to figure out how to get noticed by search engines so that people can find you. Understanding SEO is critical for anyone who wants to be successful in online enterprise.

An important aspect of search engine optimization is the fact that you need to invest time and effort into your website on a regular basis in order get traffic and keep traffic continuously increasing. If you allow your website to sit and collect cobwebs it won’t do much for you.

SEO Tip #1:

There isn’t a magical formula; at least not one that’s evergreen so it’s important to stay current on SEO news. Dig deep to find information and read everything you can. You’ll find conflicting information at times but knowledge is power so absorb as much SEO news as you can.

SEO Tip # 2:

Create an easy to follow design with a standard homepage, easily viewable links and a site index. This way, people and search engines can find their way around easily and so can people.

SEO Tip # 3:

Determine what your target keywords are. There are some great tools out there that can help you both for free or for a small fee. Often it’s fairly easy to figure this out on your own.

Ask yourself:

What are the top three to five words or phrases you would use if you were use to search for the product or topic you are selling? Be sure that those words are on each page of your website, especially in titles, headings and at the beginning, middle and end of each page. It’s a good idea to use variations as well to give your site further credibility and increase the Long Tail.

SEO Tip # 4:

SEO Fact : Content is king. Always will be. Don’t assume that more is better in terms of keywords. Do not fall victim to the temptation to simply keyword stuff your site otherwise two things will happen. First, you’ll get banned by the search engines and even worse, you’ll be ignored by the humans who land on your page. Both types of visitors can see through vain SEO attempts to trick you to get onto their site.

Instead, you want to target the fine line between having enough keyword relevancy to make it impossible for the search engines to ignore you but not so much that your human visitors find your content to be poor quality. Hire a professional SEO article writer if you have to in order to come across as professional. Keep fresh content on your pages and change your content regularly. You don’t have to waste what you’ve put effort and money into, instead move your old content into archives so it continues to work for you as well.

SEO Tip # 5:

Web 2.0 is all about social networking. Social networking, social book marking, forum posting and link exchanges can be invaluable If you can get high ranking websites in your niche to exchange links with you, this can help. If you are blogging, comment on other blogs in your niche to get a link back to your site and generate interest from bloggers that frequent other sites in your niche. If you use tools like Technorati, Digg, StumbleUpon and other social book marking tools on your pages with appropriate tagging, you can bring relevant traffic fairly quickly and it’s viral so others will do the same. Social networking activities are also indexed by the search engines.

In summary, there are basic to advanced seo techniques and seo tips that you can use to get noticed by the big three search engines. Your results will depend a lot on how narrow your niche is but there are some basic things you can do to be search engine friendly from the start. It’s never too late to optimize your site though so don’t lose heart if you didn’t follow this advice on your website from the beginning. Here are some basic ideas. This is not an exhaustive list but is a great place to start.
